Unglerus Medieval Resort
Travel back in time and live like a king ...
Unglerus Medieval Resort invites you to enjoy the atmosphere of past times, in the splendid landscape of archaic Biertan, one of the first German settlements in Transylvania, the first mention of his name dating from 1283. Like any Saxon settlement has an urban organization, the position of the houses around the central square being guarded by the fortified church.
Back in time ...
Unglerus Pension consists of two of Biertan's largest old-type Saxon houses, integrated into one functional unit after their renovation. The pension is located on one of the main streets of the village, not far from central square and Unglerus Restaurant. A stunning panorama over the entire village and the fortified church is offered from the rooms of top floor and the top of the orchard.
The architectural concept preserved the original medieval atmosphere. Wrought iron medieval furniture, traditional lamps and mirrors handcrafted in Italy after local medieval design, reinforce the atmosphere. Sumptuous rooms, thick walls and hard wooden floors bring back the historical old feeling.
The semi basement of the first building is organized as a small reception and a breakfast/multifunctional room (30 places) with kitchen.
Unglerus Pension features a conference room with a capacity of 50 seats that can be hired with all necessary equipment.
The pension is surrounded by a spacious terrace, a perfect place to relax where it can be organized barbecues, campfires, outdoor medieval shows or other kinds of entertainment.
The hill with the orchard behind the guest house offers an impressive decor: numerous terraces for growing vines, old Saxon houses and citadel which guard around the area; it all seems like an old story about a medieval village.
You can enjoy free of charge ping-pong, backgammon, chess, rummy, badminton.
Unglerus Medieval Resort provides best hosting conditions and also have lots of optional programs.
Mindfulness and relaxation ...
Thomas Pension is another renovated old Saxon house. The architects worked hard to preserve the old-style of the house, keeping the hard wooden floor, doors in the rooms and all internal walls. They imposed also a medieval wrought iron style concept for this four-star pension. Bathrooms were re-equipped with old-style furniture.
A large traditional gate provides access to a inner courtyard of 400 sqm where guests will also find a nice, traditional barn. The courtyard offers intimate space for private events, BBQ, etc, or playground for children.
The pension is placed right in front of Unglerus Restaurant, with easy access and visibility from the main square of Biertan and a great view to the fortress. It has an excellent position and the best proximity to the restaurant and the fortified church.
Thomas Pension can regularly accommodate up to 6 guests in its apartment at the top floor. The apartment has about 100 sqm and consists of one living room with an extensible couch, two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The beautiful cellar of this old Saxon house offers a usable surface of some 75 sqm, which can be arranged for various purposes accommodating needs of the guests.
